2.Polls to elect new assemblies in 5 states came to an end on Saturday. Uttar Pradesh recorded an all time high turn out of 59.16 percent.
3.At least 14 people were killed when two passenger trains collided head-on in southern Poland late on Saturday in one of the country's worst train crashes in more than 20 years.
4.Veteran Indian tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi clinched his 50th career title and his first with Rohan Bopanna when the duo outwitted Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski to lift the Dubai Tennis Cup.
5.State run NTPC plans to invest Rs.25000 crore in two Odisha power projects.
6.China's defence spending will record a double-digit increase of 11.2 per cent, taking the budget to USD 106.4 billion this year compared to USD 92 billion in 2011.
7. Red planet Mars will be brightest and closest it can get to earth for the next 3 years on Sunday.
8.A report from CyberMedia Research has indicated that a total of 183 million mobiles were sold in calendar year 2011, representing a 10 per cent growth over 2010.
